Over Exposed… an illustrated chat with Celeb Photographer Dave King

Urgent Notice – Due to unforeseen circumstances “Over Exposed” Chat is postponed

Dave King’s beloved dog Morrissey had to be put down unexpectedly due to cancer.

Dave has requested we therefore postpone the proposed “Over Exposed” chat for a new date yet to be confirmed in early 2020.

We fully understand the unexpected death of his pet has knocked him and his partner Jo for six at this moment in time and we are very sympathetic for their loss.

We are of course more than happy to postpone the talk on Sunday.

What does this mean for all ticket holders – those that have bought tickets via either the Post Office or the Tea Room are requested to either hold on to them until we are able to confirm a new date or if they prefer take them back the venue they purchased them from and exchange them for a full refund.

This can be done from Friday 4th October until Friday 18th October, thereafter we will assume you are hanging onto them for the new rescheduled date.

Those purchased on line will be emailed asking them to confirm whether they would like a refund or hang on to the ticket for a new date as soon as we know one. Refunds will be made when requested and subject to the payment app processing them.

The online draw will be frozen until we have a new date and reactivated nearer the rescheduled date and those already entered will be carried over to the new date and the draw will then happen at the rescheduled event.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and promise as soon as we have a rescheduled date we will publish it.

It has taken well over two years of cajoling and discussions with Yalding resident Dave King to finally now say this event will take place on Sunday October 6th 2019.

Dave will be showing us a selection of his photographs of celebrities that he has taken pictures of in a career spanning some 30 plus years. There is always a back story behind each photograph and we are sure this will be a truly amusing and entertaining event. He will also reveal just some of the trials and tribulations of also being a co founder Yalding’s own music festival  “The Vicars Picnic”.

Tickets can be reserved online by completing the form below – we will then send you an online invoice with a  payment link to pay for your tickets by debit or credit card (N.B. This will need to be done within 24 hours of receipt to confirm your places) we then request you just bring the payment confirmation email sent to you as proof of purchase. (Hard copy or phone email will suffice)

Alternatively you can purchase physical tickets direct from Tim Chapman (a trustee) at Yalding Post Office or via The Village Tea Room.

Please make sure you do purchase early as we expect this to be a sell out event and there will be very limited tickets available on the door

5th Sponsored Teddy Parachute Jump

Back for what will now be its 5th year we will be organising another fun filled event at the annual church fete on Saturday 7th September.

Take 6 Chefs – Prize Draw for the Kitchen Table

We are pleased to announce the tickets for this forthcoming fundraising event are now totally sold out. 50 people are booked in and all paid for this one off special evening of fine food and wines.

We do however have just one table left for four people that we are offering in a prize draw. Located within the thick of the action the table is located in the kitchen.

We are asking via our dedicated Virgin Money Giving Page for donations of £5 increments to get your name in our virtual hat. So a £20 donation would mean your name would be in it four times. The dinner takes place on Thursday May 23rd at the Oaks Restaurant in the MidKent College Campus in Maidstone. Full details on the event can be found here. 

There will be a range of items also up for auction on the night and we are keen to raise significant monies to boost our funds to help with the restoration and cleaning of the church organ.

You can also donate offline by seeing our trustee Tim Chapman in the Yalding Post Office where he will add your name to the list once a minimum donation of £5 has been made.

The draw closes at 9:30am on Tuesday May 7th – the draw will be made thereafter and the winner will be notified.

Take 6 Chefs … Booking Now Open…

The time has come to open the booking for the YCPS fundraising dinner on May 23rd that will take place at the Oaks Restaurant in the MidKent College Campus.

Please complete the form below and we will then send you an invoice with a secure online payment link to make your payment.

We expect demand to be very high so we are asking you to make your payment within 24 hours of being sent the link. Thereafter we will go to the next person on the waiting list.

There are currently just 50 places available so we do ask you to please ensure you book early to secure the number of places you require.

Price per person is £95 inclusive of all food and drink served with the meal. 

We will confirm your places by email once your payment has been processed.

In the event you need to cancel a refund will only be given up to two weeks before the event and subject to us being able to resell your places.

All the chefs and the venue have waived their costs and many suppliers are donating their produce/drinks so this will help us maximise the profits for the YCPS

Please also let us know if any of your party have any specific food allergies – the menu is planned (we will publish soon) and due to the nature of the event alternatives for vegetarian/vegan will be very limited and subject to prior knowledge.

Transport is being organised for those who do not wish drive from Yalding to Maidstone by Yalding Taxis and will be subject to an additional £10 per person return with pick up and return to the High Street Bus Stop – This will need to pre booked via this form

Yalding Yuletide Market… Our Prize Draw…

We have secured for the Yuletide Market a unique raffle prize that has been generously donated by those lovely people at Anno Distillers.

We have a blending experience for two people that will take place at their Pop Up Shop in Bluewater Shopping Centre. (It is only there until 30th December 2018)

You will learn more about Anno and their range of spirits and then you will get to make your very own personalised blend to take home…You will also get a special certificate and goody bag as well.

To get your name in the “Virtual Hat” you will need to make a minimum £2 donation – a £10 donation would mean your name would be put in the hat five times so increase your chances of winning this special prize.

All profits from this raffle will go to help bolster the YCPS funds. The draw for the winner will take place on Sunday 2nd December the day after the market. The winner will be notified by email. You will then need to redeem your prize direct with the pop up shop at Bluewater before the 30th December 2018.

Riverside Pop Up Gallery… our heartfelt thanks

Well, we were not sure what to expect at the recent “End of Season” Auction sale of some 80 plus items donated for the sale. The total proceeds from this sale were to be generously donated by June & Tim Chapman to YCPS funds so there was a great potential to bolster our funds from this single event.

We are delighted to report that along with the donations tin that collected monies from gallery visitors over the summer with monies collected  for their cup of tea or coffee the auction itself raised over £550 on the night so we hope in total a little over £600 overall which is a truly magnificent effort.

Our thanks to all those who attended and entered into the spirit of the event and we cannot thank June enough for all the hard work she put into the evening and making the decision to support YCPS – it was a very generous gesture and we hope we can support her in the future.

If you enjoyed this event do not forget you can support the YCPS at our next one – our “Spirit of Yalding” drinks stall at the Yalding Yuletide Market on the 1st December.
